Due to the increasing demand from our members for participation in World and European Championships in the Masters category, Swiss Surfing is pleased to offer interested members the opportunity to represent Switzerland internationally in divisions such as Masters, Long-board, Bodyboard etc., which are not categorised as B league divisions.
Procedure
- Distinction between A-League and B-League divisions
- Swiss Surfing now differentiates between A-League and B-League divisions. The decision as to which divisions are categorized as relevant to A-League can be changed at any time.
- A-League divisions will, as before, be supported and promoted by Swiss Surfing within the scope of its financial possibilities. They are subject to the high-performance sports promotion concept and the selection criteria. Only athletes who fulfill the selection criteria and are selected by Swiss Surfing can take part in international competitions in the A-League divisions.
- Swiss Surfing Active Members have the opportunity to represent Switzerland at World or European Championship in all divisions that are categorized in the B-League Division. The complete organization and financing must be paid 100% by the members themselves (see point 3. Conditions of participation…).

- conditions of participation for B-League Divisions
- Interested parties must have a valid Swiss Surfing Active Membership.
- Interested parties must independently enter results from past contests (e.g. SSC result) in the ranking system (see points 5 & 6 Ranking…).
- All costs incurred are to be paid by the participants themselves.
- Swiss Surfing will assist with the organization and arrangement (e.g. of clothing with the Swiss Surfing outfitter) where possible, but without guarantee. An additional fee may be charged for increased organizational effort.
- selection for B-League Divisions
- In principle, anyone who fulfills the conditions of participation can take part.
- If demand exceeds the available places, places will be allocated based on the ranking of the respective division.
- Swiss Surfing is responsible for deciding who represents Switzerland in the divisions relevant to non-high-performance sport based on the above criteria.
- selection and ranking 2024 for B-League Divisions
- For 2024, Swiss Surfing will decide who can go if there are more interested parties than places. We will take the results of the 2023 Swiss Surfing Championship into account when making the decision.
- ranking from 2025 for B-League Divisions
- From 2025, all Active Members will have the opportunity to enter their results on the Swiss Surfing website to create a ranking. From 2025, this ranking will determine who will be selected if there are more places available.
With this approach, Swiss Surfing provides a clear structure and support for all members who want to represent Switzerland in international competition.
